Booking Information

Much of what happens at Akanishta Kadampa Buddhist Centre needs no prior booking at all — our weekly classes are genuinely drop-in, so you’re welcome to simply turn up.

We ask you to book for:

  • Courses & Retreats — book online via the link on each listing

  • The main weekly series, to get a 20% discount

Foundation and Teacher Training Programmes work differently — these require enrolment, not booking. See In-depth Programmes for details.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy applies to Courses & Retreats, one-off talks, and special events — anything booked through Ticket Tailor. It doesn’t apply to regular drop-in weekly classes, since nothing is booked or paid in advance for those.

  • 3 or more days before the event: full refund, available to arrange yourself via “Manage Tickets” in your Ticket Tailor booking confirmation.

  • Less than 3 days before: non-refundable.

If you have any difficulty with a cancellation, please get in touch and we’ll do what we can to help.

Terms & Conditions

By booking a place or attending an event at Akanishta Kadampa Buddhist Centre, you agree to the following:

  • Food & meals. All food and meals offered at the centre are vegetarian. Where possible we aim to offer a vegan and gluten-free option as well. However, due to limited space in food preparation and storage areas, we cannot guarantee any food offered is free from cross-contamination.

  • Parking. The visitors’ car park is for personal use when attending classes and courses. The centre will not be liable for loss, damage or injury to any vehicle, person or personal property when using the car park.

  • Pets. You are welcome to bring a well-behaved dog with you to the centre, with the exception of the meditation room, however they must be with you and on a lead and at all times. A water bowl is always available on request.

  • Photography and filming. By attending our events, you consent to being photographed or filmed, and to that material being used on our website, social media, or in publicity. See our Privacy Policy for full details, or let our photographer know at the time if you’d prefer not to be included.

  • Changes to events. Occasionally we may need to reschedule or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances. We’ll always try to give as much notice as possible, and offer a full refund where this happens. If you’ve booked for the event through Ticket Tailor you’ll get an email with details about the changes.

  • Respectful conduct. We ask everyone to treat teachers, volunteers, and fellow attendees with respect and consideration. We reserve the right to ask anyone behaving disruptively to leave.

  • Safeguarding. All activities are run in line with our Safeguarding Policy, which applies to everyone at the centre, including visitors.

  • Age. Under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. 16–17 year-olds must be accompanied by someone over 18.

  • Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
