Meditation and Buddhism in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and Tewkesbury

Foundation Programme

Listening is a lamp that dispels the darkness of ignorance – Buddha

The Foundation Programme is a study and meditation programme designed to deepen our understanding and experience of Buddhism. It involves the systematic study and contemplation of any or all of Geshe Kelsang’s commentaries to six essential Buddhist texts. By making a light commitment to the course, students are able to give their spiritual life the time and attention it deserves. Read more about the commitment involved .

The Foundation Programme in Cheltenham is taught by Kelsang Rinchen and runs on Sundays, 9 – 1.45 pm (followed by Heart Jewel Puja at 2 – 2.45 pm).
The classes are held on about 28 Sundays in each year. Click here to see dates.

We are currently studying the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment (‘Lamrim’), based on the commentary Joyful Path of Good Fortune (available from Tharpa Publications). Currently we are looking at the stages of the path of a person of great scope – emphasizing the development of universal love and compassion, the mind of enlightenment, and the wisdom realizing selflessness.

How can I find out more?
