Foundations of a Spiritual Life - relying upon a Spiritual Guide

Meditation half-day course in Cheltenham
with Buddhist monk Kelsang Rinchen

Internal, spiritual development is important for everyone. Since happiness and suffering are states of mind, it follows that their causes must also lie within the mind. We cannot remove the causes of suffering and create the causes of happiness with our hands, with machines, or by any external method. The only way is to control and purify our mind by engaging in spiritual practice.

To succeed in our practice, we need the help and guidance of someone who knows the spiritual path from their own experience. Relying correctly upon such a qualified Spiritual Guide is the very root of the path to enlightenment, and a skill which needs to be learnt and practised.

This course will offer practical advice on how to cultivate and sustain the states of mind which are the foundations of successful spiritual practice, in particular the mind of reliance upon a Spiritual Guide.

Everyone is welcome.
